QURAN

At Read and Rise, the Holy Quran has two parts that we aim to teach. The first part is hifth of the quran- this is the memorisation of the holy Quran, which we endeavour each of our students to complete. The second part, which we believe is key in advancing through the Quran, is learning to read the Quran. This element will be studied by the use of the Qaida book. Students will first learn to identify and learn the Arabic letters, then will continue onto the words then progress onto shorter then longer phrases. Throughout the Qaida book, students will be heavily exposed to the tajweed rules that will aid them in applying the rules.

On completion of the Qaida, students will learn to read short surahs whilst consistently applying tajweed rules. Once reaching Level 2, a great emphasis will be placed on the theory of tajweed whilst continuing reading the Quran and memorising it simultaneously. Fluency and pronunciation will also be key areas of improvement to ensure the students' recitation is perfected in every way possible.

Most importantly, the Quran will be memorised alongside learning to read, from the Beginners through to the advanced levels. Beginners will memorise the Quran as a group, reciting after the teacher. This is crucial because the students will pick up surah correctly with the correct applied tajweed. As the student grows older, they will become more independent in their memorisation with a greater focus on theoretical tajweed.
